The landscape of work is continuously changing, and Microsoft 365 is spearheading the transformation in…
What’s new in M365?
The world of work is constantly evolving, and Microsoft 365 is leading the way in revolutionising the way we work. With its latest updates, Microsoft 365 has become even more powerful and versatile than ever before. From enhanced collaboration and communication tools to intelligent automation capabilities, the newest updates are designed to streamline workflows and boost productivity for individuals and teams alike.
Benefits of Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based suite of productivity tools that includes familiar apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. It also includes a host of other applications that are designed to help individuals and teams work more efficiently and effectively. One of the biggest benefits of Microsoft 365 is that it’s accessible from anywhere, on any device. This means that you can work from your desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, and still have access to all of your files and applications.
Another benefit of Microsoft 365 is that it’s constantly being updated with new features and capabilities. This means that you’ll always have access to the latest tools and technologies, without having to worry about upgrading or installing new software. Additionally, Microsoft 365 is designed to be flexible and scalable, so it can grow and adapt as your business or organisation grows.
Latest Microsoft 365 features
Improved collaboration with Microsoft Teams Premium
Microsoft Teams is one of the most popular applications in Microsoft 365, and with good reason. Teams is a chat-based workspace that allows individuals and teams to communicate, share files, and collaborate on projects in real time. With the release of Teams Premium, features such as intelligent recap, customised meeting branding, and live translations, make it easier than ever to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
The intelligent recap feature, which utilises artificial intelligence, provides suggestions for action items and assigns owners based on the content of the meeting. Furthermore, more advanced recordings have automatically generated chapters and can notify you of important details, such as references to your name or screen sharing.
Customised meeting branding allows users to create meeting lobbies, backgrounds and together modes that reflect the brand of the company and create a personalised meeting experience.
With Premium, Teams meetings now have the added feature of real-time caption translations for 40 different languages, in addition to the existing live captions with speaker recognition. This ensures that no information is left out during meetings.
Outlook Bookings with me
With the new Bookings with me feature in Outlook, you can easily streamline the process of scheduling meetings while still having complete control over your calendar. By creating personalised bookable slots, you can easily share them with others and schedule one-on-one meetings based on your preferences and availability. Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Outlook can help you stay organised and on top of your schedule, so you never miss an important meeting or deadline again.
Changes to cloud storage
Microsoft 365 is expanding its cloud storage to include data from Outlook.com attachments and OneDrive. This may result in a decrease in available cloud storage for OneDrive. In the event that your cloud storage limit is reached, your ability to send and receive emails on Outlook.com may be impacted. However, all data will remain secure due to the various security measures provided by Microsoft.
OneDrive Shared with you
OneDrive’s Shared with you view is being updated by Microsoft to enhance the user experience. The changes will allow users to easily access shared content by consolidating files and folders shared through emails, chats, and meetings into a single location.
With the updated OneDrive > Shared > Shared with you view, you can conveniently access all the files and folders that have been shared with you via email, chats, or meetings. The new activity column will help you track any updates to the files, while the filter ‘pills’ will make it easy for you to search for files, just like you can on the OneDrive > Home view.
Improved multi-factor authentication
Microsoft has implemented improved MFA that will replace push notifications with number matching. This new system requires users to install the latest version of the Microsoft Authenticator app from the iOS App Store or Google Play store for Android devices. The goal is to address MFA fatigue and encourage users to be more mindful when approving requests and to reduce attacks.
